At The Canadianist Institute, your education begins with real people, real conversations and personal instruction.
Every course includes 12 weekly classes, taught in person by Christopher M. Michaud.
But learning a language takes practice, and sometimes the best time to practise is when you’re at home, reviewing something from class or working through a question at your own pace.
That’s why we’re developing the Canadianist Institute AI Study Companion.
It’s a personal, curriculum-connected learning resource designed to support your studies between classes.
Practise Whenever You’re Ready
Whether you have five minutes or an hour, your companion will help you revisit lessons, practise vocabulary, work on sentence construction and develop conversational confidence.
The planned platform will be accessible through a secure student login, allowing you to practise from your phone, tablet or computer.
A Familiar Voice
One of the most distinctive features of our planned AI Study Companion is its connection to your actual instructor.
Using licensed ElevenLabs voice-cloning technology, the companion is being designed to speak in Christopher’s voice.
That means students can practise between lessons with a familiar voice while interacting with an AI-powered study tool.
The voice is digitally generated. Students are not speaking directly to Christopher during these practice sessions.
Built Around Your Actual Lessons
The companion will follow the Institute’s curriculum.
As you progress through your 12-week course, you’ll be able to review material related to your classroom lessons, revisit difficult concepts and practise useful conversations.
The objective is to reinforce classroom learning rather than introduce an unrelated program.
Prepare for Your Progress Challenges
The curriculum includes three planned learning milestones:
Week 4: Foundation Challenge
Practise sentence construction, questions and the communication skills introduced during the first four lessons.
Week 8: Practical Communication Challenge
Review your ability to participate in everyday conversations, express ideas and respond appropriately.
Week 12: Final Communication Challenge
Prepare to demonstrate the communication skills developed throughout the course.
Your AI Study Companion will provide opportunities for practice and preparation.
Formal assessment requirements and results remain under Christopher’s direction.
Work at Your Own Pace
Some students may want a brief review after class. Others may want to spend more time practising something they find difficult.
Your AI Study Companion is designed to accommodate different learning needs and levels of confidence.
Where supported, it will also offer explanations in a student’s preferred language, helping them understand challenging English concepts before returning to English-language practice.
Included With Your Tuition
Access to the AI Study Companion is planned to be included with every eligible student enrolment during the course session, at no additional tuition charge.
There is no need to purchase a separate language-learning subscription from the Institute.
Access will be provided through individual student accounts.
Technology That Supports Personal Teaching
Our philosophy is straightforward.
Technology can provide additional opportunities for practice, but personal instruction remains at the centre of the learning experience.
Your classes are taught by Christopher, in person, in interactive classes of up to 24 students.
The AI Study Companion is simply an extension of that relationship: an additional resource to help you practise between lessons, reinforce your understanding and arrive at your next class more confident.
